More Than Just Beautiful Photos

Any professional photographer can take a beautiful photo.

But wedding photography is about so much more than that.

It’s about your experience getting those beautiful photos.

The Start of Your Wedding Photography Experience

And a Bit About Mine

Back in the ‘60s, my grandparents started a wedding photography studio. And over the decades, became award-winning members of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America).

While my grandfather was the master photographer, working behind the camera and taking couples’ photos, my grandmother was obsessed with posing the couple and family to look picture-perfect. Even my mom was involved in the business – Picking out the images in the basement darkroom that couples might want in their albums.

Whenever I would visit my grandparents’ home, I was surrounded by their beautiful photos and portraits. And seeing them at work while taking our own family portraits, I learned small directions and guidance delivered big and beautiful results.

Fast forward to today, I provide my couples with that same kind of direction – but with a more contemporary and natural twist.

This, combined with the patience I practice teaching middle school math, is how I have the confidence to step into a situation full of excitement (and a little bit of chaos) to provide you and your family photos you’ll enjoy forever.

This direction is only part of the experience you’ll receive.

A Win-Win-Win Experience

PERSONALITY  +  FLEXIBILITY  +  EFFICIENCY

Win #1: Personality

To get your photography experience started on the right foot, we’ll begin by talking through your biggest concerns and ideas regarding your wedding photos. I’ll tell you a little bit about me so you can get a feel if our personalities and visions match. And if you decide they do, I’ll send over a questionnaire so that I can get to know you both even better.

Throughout our time working together, I’ll be a good balance of professional and personable – getting the job done but having fun while doing it. I’ll stay cool, calm and collected on your wedding day, which can be equal parts joyful and stressful. And I’ll occasionally tell a bad joke (or two) to lighten the mood and help you relax.

Win #2: Flexibility

As part of your team of vendors, my priority is to do right by you. And that means knowing how to be flexible on your wedding day.

As an enneagram 6:8, I’m pretty good at being flexible, anticipating problems and fixing them before they even occur. And if something unexpected does happen, I’ll find a solution before you even need to stress about it.

Whether it’s the timeline running behind, or a change of location for your engagement session, first look, or family portraits, I see your wedding day like a game of Tetris. And it’s my job to help make sure all of the pieces of your wedding day fit together seamlessly so that you can get back to enjoying it.

Win #3: Efficiency

You don’t want to spend your entire wedding day in front of the camera taking pictures. You want t0 spend it celebrating with friends and family. At the end of the day, that’s what a wedding is for. (Other than to marry the love of your life, of course.)

To ensure this happens, I’ll help you get a mixture of formal portraits and candid moments efficiently. Because while capturing you and your family’s legacy is undeniably important, it shouldn’t consume your entire day.

This is why I not only provide you and your family clear direction on the day, but I’ll send you timeline samples beforehand so we can schedule the day to flow as seamlessly as possible. I’ll ask for a list of your family members to help portraits following (or before) the ceremony run smoothly. And I’ll communicate with you quickly by email, phone, or text, all so that you can get back to what matters most.

“For me the photographer was the thing I was kind of worried about for my wedding. My parents had a bad experience with their wedding photos, so I was a little nervous. However, Kylie was amazing. Her personality and her work helped make my wedding day so special!

Now I have beautiful photos that I can cherish forever!”
